We offer tours of the building tailored to the wishes and/or specific needs of your groups.

IRCAM is not open to individual visitors. We welcome only school audiences and organizations from the medico-social sector.

Culture Relax

In order to ensure greater accessibility for all audiences, IRCAM offers several sessions under the Culture Relax scheme.

The Culture Relax scheme allows cultural venues to be shared in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, facilitating attendance for individuals whose disability (autism, multiple disabilities, intellectual or psychological disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, etc.) may sometimes lead to atypical behavior during performances. During specific sessions, the traditional rules of the auditorium are relaxed, allowing audiences to enter and leave during the performance, to vocalize their appreciation of the work, and so on.

Everyone—whether directly concerned by disability or not—can experience their emotions freely and enjoy the performance together.

Medico-social and associative sector

We are happy to adapt our workshops according to the interests and needs of your audiences. Our mediators are trained to lead workshops with care and consideration for all types of audiences. We operate in the Île-de-France region and beyond.

We have put workshops in place at: La Seine Musicale in Boulogne, Le Cube-Garges in Garges-Lès-Gonesse, Le Temps Machine in Tours, Le Centre des Arts in Enghien-les-Bains, the Toy Museum of Poissy, the Leonardo da Vinci Museum in Milan, the City of Trappes, Le Féru des sciences…

The TACT device draws on the musical heritage of graphic scores in order to offer non-expert audiences means of experimentation and sound expression without prior training.

Designed as an interactive composition environment, the system is intended to be inhabited by several composers from different generations and aesthetic backgrounds. Each composer proposes to visitors a sonic, musical, and evolving interpretation of the panorama.

Each composer integrates their instrumentarium into the system in order to create their musical proposal. As an “open score”, each creation can therefore also be interpreted by its audience.

The project is based on the creation of a repertoire of interactive gestures enabling visitors to act upon the initial panorama and trigger different graphic and musical effects. These gestures—touching, drawing, holding, separating—and their intentions—slow, lively, heavy, light—leave players the greatest possible freedom for improvisation. The screen is designed for broad gestures and encourages collective interaction, allowing for shared improvisation experiences.
