Telling Stories through Sound and Movement

CoMo-education is a mobile application that enables children aged 4 and up to tell sound stories through movement. The workshop invites children to take part in a playful, interactive, and collective experience centered on listening, imagination, and body awareness. The stories are animated by various soundscapes generated directly by the participants’ gestures. The CoMo-education project stems from a collaboration between the Sound Music Movement Interaction team at IRCAM-STMS and the association Premiers cris.

The Stories in Sound and Movement workshop is available in two formats:

The Narration format is intended for children aged 4 to 6. They discover several movement-based stories told by the mediator.
The Creation format is intended for children aged 6 to 10. The children are invited to create the sound design for a story they invent themselves, drawing inspiration from books provided or using their imagination. After a creative phase, the children share their story with the rest of the group.
