“Diwan Midi” explores Arabic musical structures through the lens of electronic and live music. At the heart of the project is a prototype MIDI qanun developed at IRCAM, which blends traditional instrument-making techniques with digital control. The project juxtaposes Arabic ornamentation and melodic modes with contemporary compositional tools.
